DETAILED
ENGINEERING

Engineering for the transportation of oversized
and heavy-lift cargo is not a service, but
a technical solution to a complex problem.

It transforms an initially impossible-looking
transport into a planned, safe and manageable
process where every step is calculated
and justified

bg
04

DETAILED
ENGINEERING

Road Transport
  • Optimization of the cargo layout on a vehicle taking
into account two key constraints: the permissible axle
load and the minimum turning radius, ensuring
    maneuverability along the route
  • Determining the range and specifications of vehicles
that match the route specifics, such as its length,
overhead clearance restrictions, and road gradient
  • Maneuvering zone analysis and route mapping
    for an oversized truck combination

    transshipment at rail-to-truck interchange points
bg
04

DETAILED
ENGINEERING

Water Transport
  • Integrated engineering of cargo stowage and securing arrangements,
considering vessel specifications (type, class, structure), intended
voyage parameters, and operational procedures for cargo handling
  • Development of operational procedures for cargo transfer from
vessels to other modes of transport in port areas, at
    anchorage, or via roll-on/roll-off operations
  • Development and approval of a project for the safe towing
of cargo on a barge along inland waterways

bg
Overall dimensions (L x W x H, m)
62,00 х 48,00 х 24,00
Cargo weight, mt

Project Description

This project involved moving the topside structure of a fixed offshore platform from a semi-submersible vessel to a production company's berth in Kaliningrad. This work was part of the construction of an offshore platform for the production, gathering, metering, and transportation of oil, gas, and condensate to a commercial product processing facility at the D-33 oil field on the Baltic Sea shelf.

The project's uniqueness lay in its complexity: our specialists were tasked with rolling out the cargo with support pedestals, which limited the SPMT's ability to adjust their suspension and steering levels. Furthermore, a complex combination of SPMT into a single convoy was required due to the combination of eight (8) groups of SPMT with only five power units (PPUs).

Transportation methods
Self-propelled modular transporters (SPMT) – 120 axle lines + 5 power pack units (PPU)
Scope of Services
  • Roll-off unloading from a semi-submersible vessel to a berth
  • 90-degree turn around its own axis
